A Vacheron Constantin timepiece could appeal to those hoping to buy a flashy watch for their partner this Xmas, after it scooped an award.The Historique Ultra-fine 1955 watch won the Public Prize at the 2010 Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix award ceremony, with a wealth of design elements showing why it has been honoured, World Tempus reported.As well as currently being the thinnest mechanical hand-wound watch – measuring in at a sleek 4.10mm thick – the product comes with a case and face embellished in 18-carat gold, to honour its 55th anniversary.The case measures in at a slender 36mm in diameter, which packs in a clear white dial and hands which indicate the current hour and minute.Finishing off this award-winning timepiece is a luxury alligator leather strap, offering comfort when the product is worn, as well as having a power reserve of over 30 hours.Vacheron Constantin has also been praised recently for its decisions when manufacturing the Patrimony Retrograde, with Watch Observer awarding the model a score of 77 out of 100 for its many innovative elements.
