It is sculptured either in white gold, rose gold or a marvelous combination of these two materials. The case is offset by an elegant bezel, rendered in white or rose gold. The winding crown, nestled at 3 o'clock, captures attention with its refinement. The company's craftsmen have also equipped the timepiece with high-grade top and bottom sapphire crystals. The absolute precision of the model is guaranteed by a manufactory-made self-winding caliber 2460 QRA movement. Composed of 326 individual parts, the mechanism operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers a 40-hour power reserve.A consummate combination of technical performance and ultimate elegance of design, the new Vacheron Constantin watch is delivered on a black or brown alligator leather strap. Vacheron CEO Juan-Carlos Torres personally presented the watch to Michael Mann, the director of Miami Vice. In Miami Vice, character Sonny Crocket (played by Colin Farrell) was wearing a Vacheron Constantin Malte Chronograph Perpetual Calendar in Platinum.
