Even at the last position ? when changing the time ? the crown feels very sturdy and does not wobble as it would on most other watches. The sapphire crystal's diameter would usually affect its strength, but its considerable thickness makes up for this potential vulnerability. The infamous 7750 calibre movement that powers the watch is also known for its resilience and dependability. Finally, take into consideration the timepiece's water resistance and it is evident that the Classico Titanium does not just play the part, but is actually suited to professional use.Also influenced by military technology is the style of the Classico Titanium Chronograph. Black watch cases are an Italian tradition originally used by the military. The dark metal avoided reflecting light and giving away the position of camouflaged personnel. Italo Fontana's design is stealthy, but the watch is still highly legible thanks to the bold design of the dial and wide hands. Limited Edition of 999 Pieces The case, in titanium grade 5, measures 53mm x 18mm (65mm with crown). The crystal is sapphire and it is water resistant to 300 meters. The bi-directional rotating bezel is lockable with a lever on the right side of the case. The U-42's winding crown was built in two parts: one is attached to the movement stem whilst the other is hinged to it with a pivot. This gives a flexible joint configuration which allows the crown to protrude considerably from the watch itself for winding and setting, yet returning it to a protected, hidden position diminishing the side clutter when in action. Movement is the automatic Swiss caliber U-BOAT U-28 with 25 jewels, 28,800 vph and a power reserve of 40 hours. The dial is made with a slab in brass galvanized and finished with a bright enamel paste. Hands are German Silver. The leather strap measures 23mm with 23mm buckle.
