A writer has advised consumers to be careful when purchasing Rolex watches to ensure they do not end up with an expensive forgery and suggested many people struggle to tell the difference.In an article for Lovemoney.com, personal finance expert Rachel Wait explained that the number of people conned into buying counterfeit Rolex watches has soared in recent years and urged shoppers to be on their guard."The counterfeit business is growing rapidly, and as a result, legitimate businesses are suffering," she said. "A Rolex watch should be fairly heavy so if it's feeling a little light, chances are you're not holding the genuine article."Ms Wait added that another way to tell authentic Rolex watches apart from imitations is by checking for a tell-tale ticking sound, which bona fide models do not make.Earlier this week, the Financial Times reported that exclusive designers including Christian Dior and Louis Vuitton are preparing to make moves into the fashion watches market.

Loupe – or the magnifier, is used to inspect the detailed markings, serial numbers, and anything we couldn’t see with our normal vision.
