However, the excited crowd soon gasped as the mare hit the vertical three from home and later both the elements of the penultimate double and collected 12 faults. Eric Van der Vleuten of Holland who is number two according to the overall standings, collected eight faults.

Jewellery store thieves have hurled Rolex watches at police as they were chased from a London store, it has been revealed.

A total of six robbers were chased from the location in south-west London, the Sun reports, with a number of luxury watches stolen prior to their escape.

Police cars and helicopters were involved in the pursuit of the thieves, who are believed to have stolen around 40 watches.

Many of the items were recovered, with two of the suspects arrested after they crashed around seven miles away from the store.

Commenting on the saga, Detective Constable Ron Harvey told the ***: "It was an excellent team effort."

The raid took place at Fraser Hart, a jewellery outlet in a shopping mall located in Kingston.
