Inspired by 21st-century technology and materials used in automotive racing, especially Formula 1(TM), Richard Mille presented their first wristwatch in the first month of the year 2000. Now the RM-011 Felipe Massa Edition watch is available for racing fans and high-technology timepiece lovers in an ultra-limited edition: the RM-011-1, the Singapore GP watch. Only 50 of the RM-011-1 watches were produced to commemorate the first F1 race run on the new track in Singapore in September 2008, and F1 driver Felipe Massa’s participation. The large squared-off numerals marking the hours are alternately red and white in keeping with the flag color scheme. The date window is framed by a rectangle in red with white diagonals, and the month indicator is in a separate window between the 4 and 5 o’clock positions. Three chronographs add to the versatile functionality of the RM-011-1: a sixty-second timer at the right (3:00), with yellow arrow; a 60-minute countdown timer on the left (9:00) and a second time zone dial in the 6 o’clock position, complete with two red and white hands. The frame of the automatic winding movement emphasizes the beauty of the technology that goes into every Richard Mille watch. The 62-jewel movement is connected to a 3-arm balance made of a patented material called Glucydur, while the crystal covering the face is of patented transparent Incabloc for shock resistance that exceeds all current industry specifications. The movement vibrates at an above average 28,800 vph, equivalent to 4 Khz. The power reserve for the RM-011-1 is a maximum of 55 hours, but will vary depending on how often and for how long the timer functions are engaged.
