He also trained apprentices. Daniel JeanRichard represented the living embodiment of avant-gardism. He not only produced watches, he also invented watchmaking machines and tools, having provided the basis for studying the art of watchmaking itself. Daniel JeanRichard is also famous for the pocket watch he created in 1710 as a true technical and aesthetic masterpiece. The "Daniel" pocket watch has been reproduced in many variations. Now, it is on display at the JeanRichard Museum. The silver case of the pocket watch accommodates a crown wheel movement fitted with a chain and fusee mechanism responsible for transmitting the power from the mainspring in a regular manner.
