Inspired by 21st-century technology and materials used in automotive racing, especially Formula 1(TM), Richard Mille presented their first wristwatch in the first month of the year 2000. The frame of the automatic winding movement emphasizes the beauty of the technology that goes into every Richard Mille watch. The 62-jewel movement is connected to a 3-arm balance made of a patented material called Glucydur, while the crystal covering the face is of patented transparent Incabloc for shock resistance that exceeds all current industry specifications. The movement vibrates at an above average 28,800 vph, equivalent to 4 Khz. The power reserve for the RM-011-1 is a maximum of 55 hours, but will vary depending on how often and for how long the timer functions are engaged.
