Vacheron Constantin Rubber Strap Watches

Vacheron Constantin a name synonymous with class, elegance and luxury watches have gone ahead and introduced a new series of "Les Masques" timepieces which will join the brand's Metiers d'Art watch collection. As the name suggest the 4 watches are heavily inspired from the primordial masks from Mexico, Japan, Gabon, and Papua New Guinea. What also sets them apart is the painstaking creation of each mask which demanded approximately 100 hours. Each masks brings its own feel to the watches like the Japan mask emanates gentleness and serenity while the Mexico mask is believed to be a piece of the chimney of an ?incense burner?, this fragment is not so much a ?mask? as an extremely sensitive portrait. The miniature masks appear upon a transparent sapphire crystal, which reveals the underlying watch mechanism; a poem by French writer Michel Butor has been engraved in a pattern which encircles the mask.

Although the collection was unveiled in 1972, it still manages to rock the world of horology in today's day and age. This time Vacheron Constantin is returning its 1972 original model to the spotlight by unveiling a new model distinguished at the time by the "Dipl?me du Prestige de la France". This was the first time this honor is granted to a watch manufacturer. Crafted in 18-carat white or pink gold, and smaller case with dimensions better suited to delicate wrists, the new models in the 1972 collection vividly embody Vacheron Constantin's concern for refinement. It is fitted with new models consisting of two superimposed parts: the first serving as a "mirror" polished underplate and the second with 12 and 6 o'clock cut-outs revealing two Roman numerals. The new 1972 models play on swirling diamond patterns thanks to daring gem-set motifs shaped like a wave composed of 152 brilliant-cut diamonds (approx. 0.77 carat) that rolls over the case and splashes on to the dial.
