The Vacheron Constantin Historiques collection, reflecting the brand's rich heritage and symbolizing its spirit and know-how, welcomes a new member - the Aronde 1954 watch. It was created on the base of the model introduced by the brand in the post-war years. The model will be available in a limited edition.Representing a successful union of boldness and creativity, the vintage-spirit timepiece catches the glance by its original rectangular case. The hand-guilloche dial of the watch pays tribute to the Metiers d'Art, the artistic crafts cherished by the brand. The 31.2 x 44. 55 mm rectangular case of the Historiques Aronde 1954 watch is sculptured in pink gold. It demonstrates alternating polished and brushed su***ces. "Aronde" is an Old French word for wings of a swallow. This name of the watch was suggested by the signature double-rounded curve unfurling along the case flanks like wings. This original detail is accentuated by a distinctively cambered sapphire crystal. The refined opaline silvered dial is adorned with a hand-guilloche motif. It is completed with applied gold numerals, hour-markers and Maltese Cross symbol. The new Vacheron Constantin watch is equipped with an in-house mechanical hand-wound movement - Calibre 1400 AS. Operating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, the 20-jewel movement offers a 40-hour power reserve. It animates the hours, minute, small seconds presented via a rectangular counter at 6 o'clock. The precision of the movement is crowned with the prestigious Hallmark of Geneva.The timepiece is 30-meter water-resistant.The Vacheron Constantin Historiques Aronde 1954 watch is coupled with a brown stitched-tip, large square-scaled alligator strap fitted with a buckle in pink gold.

Vacheron Constantin Historique Aronde 1954 (Ref. 81018/000R-9657)Last week one of the most revered Swiss watchmakers has presented its new Vacheron Constantin Historique Aronde 1954 (Ref. 81018/000R-9657) hand-wound watch in rose gold.Powered by the same Caliber 1400 manually-wound movement, that we have seen last year in the Vacheron Constantin Patrimony Contemporaine for Venezuela limited edition wrist watch, the new timekeeper is delivered in a uniquely shaped case, also made of rose gold.As you can see on the pictures, the elongated body of the watch features swallow-shaped sides that provide the ultra-thin timepiece with feather-light, even playful appearance.The visual lightness of the VC Historique Aronde 1954 is further supported with an opaline silvered dial with hand guilloche and hand-applied hour markers and Arabic numerals.The baton-shaped hands are also thin enough to be in harmony with the rest of the dial, but at the same time are also large enough for the watch to be completely legible.It is not yet clear whether Vacheron Constantin plans to sell the watch as a limited edition model or will produce as many timepieces as it will be able to sell.I surely hope that the latter will be true, since this new timepiece looks absolutely fabulous.
