It promised to run the collection for a three-year period until the 2009, with a set of four new masks a year, representing the four continents of Asia, America, Africa and Oceania.The first four masks produced last year was that of Alaska, China, Congo and Indonesia. This year, the four primeval masks represent Mexico, Japan, Gabon and Papua New Guinea.With technique and quality of work being imposed in every detail of the tribal masks design, it has come to produce a timepiece of such an elegant work of art.Each watch is either in gold, pink gold or stainless steel case in alligator strap. And every year, each of the four masks has 25 limited edition pieces, consisting of a total of 300 Vacheron Constantin M��tiers d’Art ‘Les Masques’ for three years.

Time will stand still at the SIHH when Vacheron Constantin will unveil its Malte Tourbillon Regulator. Offered in 18 kt gold and platinum, this perfectly balanced tonneau case packs a manual-winding caliber 1790R. It has 27 jewels, beating at 18,000 bph and a power reserve of 40 hours. Some of the exceptional finishing operations on the 1790R movement can only be done by hand, particularly in the case of the bar, which takes 11 hours to hand-finish. Measuring a 40mm X 50mm, the crystal is sapphire.
