London International Horse Show the precursor to the Rolex FEI World Cup started on Tuesday in Olympia. The occasion saw the best line-up of horses and competitors in the last ten years. The field was all set for the competition where some of the best competitors come together and compete against each other to succeed in the race. This event can be called as the halfway leg of the Rolex FEI World cup series in winters. Out of the top ten in the world, four of the horses racing enthusiasts have come to UK to be a part of this grand event to be held in Olympia. The four competitors are Rolf-Goran Bengtsson, Kevin Staut, Penelope Leprevost and Edwina Alexander.Other competitors who can be seen in the competition are Eric van der Vleuten who qualified for the Olympia race in the year 2009 and the person who won the international jumping riders club final- Steve Guerdet. He won the final race on Friday in Geneva. There will be 14 British riders who will be a part of the event along with Billy Twomey from Ireland. Billy's rank in the World Horse Racing is ninth and he is all set to attend and compete at the event. According to the qualifying rules for the World Cup, there are only 14 riders but other people who will join them are Robert Whitaker, John, Michael and Ellen.As Christmas approaches, people in general and horse riding enthusiasts in particular are looking forward to be entertained with a wide variety of equestrian sports. If you are traveling to Olympia for the event, make sure you have your event tickets in place and have made all arrangements. The show that will go on for a number of days will open with dressage that will go on for two days. This dressage is set to be more open than what the last one was. There is a reason for the same. Adelinde Cornelissen from Holland and Laura Bechtolsheimer will compete in the World cup freestyle qualifier to be held on Wednesday night. This will add a spice to the event as both of them will put together a great show for the spectators.From the British Islands, Bechtolsheimer is the dressage rider who has achieved most success. She is 25 and at this age, you very rarely find people who have achieved so much in their career. Her first competitive appearance will be made in the London international horse show at Olympia. She won a triple silver medal in Kentucky a few months back and this will be her first appearance after that.

Jewellery store thieves have hurled Rolex watches at police as they were chased from a London store, it has been revealed.

A total of six robbers were chased from the location in south-west London, the Sun reports, with a number of luxury watches stolen prior to their escape.

Police cars and helicopters were involved in the pursuit of the thieves, who are believed to have stolen around 40 watches.

Many of the items were recovered, with two of the suspects arrested after they crashed around seven miles away from the store.

Commenting on the saga, Detective Constable Ron Harvey told the ***: "It was an excellent team effort."

The raid took place at Fraser Hart, a jewellery outlet in a shopping mall located in Kingston.
