But this year the weather conditions were very hard-pressed which did not give tacticians and navigators any advantage to puff of the breeze and make this competition a neck-to-neck fight. The winds were cold and blustery for the race which made the race even harder to win. With such torturous weather conditions ICAP Leopard gave a hard-fight to Alfa Romeo. The forecasts changed hourly since the very start and no one could predict the weather till the very finish of the race. This race brought an immense tactical battle between all the super-maxi yachts. It is disappointing to know that ICAP Leopard could not take the line honour title also but Alfa Romeo should be credited for taking a lead in the impeccable race.ICAP Leopard has missed the historic treble as it has already won the Rolex Fastnet and Middle-Sea races earlier in the season. If ICAP Leopard had won this race then the team would have all three "offshore classic" in the season. The effort put by the team was tremendous which gave then the third position.
