The Panerai Luminor Marina Boutique Edition New York (PAM 417) is one of the models that will soon go on sale.The Italian watchmaker keeps introducing limited edition models customized for its most important markets.After a number of “Boutique Edition” versions for their customers on Taiwan and in China, Panerai has finally introduced a set of models for the North American market.One of them is the Panerai Luminor Marina Boutique Edition New York (PAM00417,) which is presented in a signature cushion-shaped stainless steel case 44 mm in diameter.As one might have expected, the watch comes with a fragment of the Statue of Liberty engraved on its solid case back.Fortunately, unlike the aforementioned “Fu” model for the Chinese market, Panerai’s designers did not deface the timekeeper’s dial with the Bald Eagle or some other symbol currently associated with the United States.The watch is equipped with the Caliber OP II automatic movement, which is based on ETA 6497-2 ebauche, is quite reliable and easy to service.The boutique edition timekeeper is equipped with a brown leather strap with contrasting beige stitching.As usual, the watches come as limited edition models. This particular version is limited to 150 pieces.The MSRP is set at $5100.

Ahead of SIHH 2011 Panerai has unveiled its Luminor Marina 1950 3 Days Automatic Composite �C 44mm.Powered by the automatic Panerai P.9000 movement, the Luminor 1950 case is made from Panerai Composite? – a synthetic ceramic pioneered by Officine Panerai. A first in the watch*** industry, it is created through an electro-chemical process which transforms aluminium into the distinctive matt material. It is much lighter than ceramic but harder and more resistant than steel.The P.9000 automatic movement can be seen through the smoked sapphire crystal case back and was designed and constructed in the Officine Panerai manufacture in Neuchatel. The caliber boasts a date function, small seconds at 9 o'clock and a power reserve that lasts three days.Water-resistant to 30 atmospheres (about 300 metres) it comes with a strap of antiqued brown leather with a composite buckle of the same colour.
