Movado Esperanza Watches

The latest versions of the Movado 125 Collection bring the 125 theme right to the front of the watch. The collection, which celebrates Movado's 125 years of watches, has included other watches without numerals on the front but with the M125 info on the back. The new watches include a 40mm watch for men with a sapphire crystal and a Swiss quartz movement. and a 32mm women's version with a double-length leather strap each with the numbers 1, 2,5 on the front. I think I prefer the versions without numbers, they are more in line with the traditional Movado minimalism. The watches sell for $1,095 to $1,295 at Movado boutiques.

Movado has recently started to explore reaching beyond their core market of Luxury watch enthusiasts. From online marketing to specially located billboards, Movado is pushing strong.But one of the most surprising marketing move was actually their new commercial. A commercial for a Movado watches on TBS during the late night show Conan. Conan's median viewership age is relatively young, not to mention broke (at least according to the jokes Conan makes during the nightly monologue). But apparently Movado watch makers know something we don't.Perhaps their PR department is just trying something new. They introduced the Movado Bold line in a simple graphic designed spot. The commercial’s simplicity is a perfect match to the companies simple design. No overload of special features in the watch and none were seen in the commercial as well.Movado would not be the first to try and court a young audience. Tag Heuer Watches have also found their way into commercials but never during late night programing. This may be the beginning of a new approach by luxury brands. By placing their commercial in an obviously young TV time slot, Movado is leading a new wave of luxury exposure to the younger generation.
