In spite of this minor inconvenience, the slim elegant execution is flawless.The new 896 caliber automatic Jaeger-Le-Coultre, 3.98 mm. thick, is derived from the 899 and up to date as far as the technological innovations are concerned. And secondly the ceramic balls bearings application (including zirconium oxide), that doesnt require lubrication or maintenance, and survives longer then the steel balls.In the pictures below you can see the two bearings with ceramic balls which bring such an unusual brightness, different from the steel balls we find in other calibers:The rotor load is on the outside of a 22 carat gold piece which facilitates the loading dock of the real.
