Vulcain Cricket X-Treme Automatic alarm diving watchThe Swiss watch manufacture Vulcain will soon start selling their new limited edition Vulcain Cricket X-Treme Automatic alarm diving watch with only 300+300 numbered pieces to ever reach the market.The watch is going to be available in two versions: black-and-white (Ref : 211931.201RF) and more appealing to me black-and-blue (Ref : 211931.202BRF) model.The watches are made of titanium and stainless steel and, with their water resistance rating of 300 meters, are suitable for casual diving.Although this watch reminds me of JLC’s gorgeous Navy Seals Diving Alarm series of watches, I must admit that the new Vulcain Cricket X-Treme Automatic model clearly has a face of its own.And it certainly looks way more refined (and more expensive, for that matters) than some offerings from mainstream premium brands.What’s even more important is that, unlike a great deal of its competitors, Vulcain uses its own Cricket V-21 automatic caliber, not some industry workhorse from ETA or one its smaller competitors.Made of 257 parts, the double-barrel movement features a not so common 20-seconds alarm function and date display. Also, Vulcain’s proprietary Exactomatic system that was patented in 1946 ensures that the friction on the balance wheel is equal in all position and thus allows for generating more regular amplitude of the wheel.Of course, the engine still needs to pass the test of time to prove its accuracy and reliability.

To mark the 60th anniversary of the Memovox, is associating with a major collector to present 40 historical Memovox watches. This exceptional exhibition will be held at Artcurial Auction House during the first appraisal days preceding the "Jaeger-LeCoultre Unique Auction" to be held in Paris in the autumn of 2011.The iconic Memovox model – which is very popular amongst collectors – was introduced in 1950. The Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox was powered by the first automatic movement in watchmaking history to be equipped with an alarm function: calibre 815. Later on, other watch manufacturers followed…This collection of 40 Memovox watches is from the 1950s to the 1970s and acquired over several years by a French collector.
