The back of the case, set with 104 diamonds and fitted with a sapphire crystal, makes it possible to admire the movement stamped with the famous Geneva Hallmark.Movement is a Patek caliber 16-250, hand-wound with 38 hour power reserve. The case is in 18kt white or pink gold, set with diamonds. The crown is set with a brilliant. Antiquorum's weekend sale of of "Important Collectors' Wristwatches, Pocket Watches, Clocks and Horological Tools", held at the Grand Hotel Kempinski in Geneva was one successful affair fetching a total sum of CHF 7,022,000 ($6,636,422)! As always, Patek Philippe timepieces managed to fetch the highest bids with some even setting new records. At this weekend sale, the Patek Philippe watch that set a new world record was the enamel dome clock "Le Tour du Monde de Magellan" Ref. 797 E (lot 231) which sold to an Asian collector for an impressive CHF 174,000 ($164,445) after very intense bidding over the phone. The watch raised quite a response among bidders, showing once again the command that Patek Philippe creations have at auctions.
