As always, Patek Philippe timepieces managed to fetch the highest bids with some even setting new records. At this weekend sale, the Patek Philippe watch that set a new world record was the enamel dome clock "Le Tour du Monde de Magellan" Ref. 797 E (lot 231) which sold to an Asian collector for an impressive CHF 174,000 ($164,445) after very intense bidding over the phone. The watch raised quite a response among bidders, showing once again the command that Patek Philippe creations have at auctions.
