Panerai Luminor 1950 Chrono Monopulsante Left-Handed 8 Days Titanio (PAM 345)Besides the Panerai Luminor 1950 Destro 8 Days Titanio Special Edition PAM 368 model that was presented at SIHH 2011, the Italian watchmaker has also unveiled at the same event an even more complicated Panerai Luminor 1950 Chrono Monopulsante Left-Handed 8 Days Titanio (PAM 345) hand-wound watch.As the name implies, the new timekeeper was presented in a case crafted of brushed titanium. However, unlike the gargantuan PAM 368 model, this watch features a relatively compact body only 44 millimeters wide.The PAM 345 is powered by the manufacture-made P.2004/9 movement that offers a flyback chronograph functionality and is almost identical to the P.2004 caliber that powers the PAM 344 watch unveiled at the same time last year.The only difference between the two is that the power reserve indicator has been moved from the dial to the rear side of the watch.Judging by the layout of the dial and positioning of the single chronograph pusher, Panerai’s engineers didn’t spend too much time adapting the mechanism for a left-handed version of the watch. They simply turned it 180 degrees clockwise.Probably, that was the reason behind the removal of the power reserve indicator from the face: they wanted the “Luminor Panerai” inscription to stay at its usual place at 12 o’clock.Well, this looks is a nice chronograph watch for the right-handed people, but the price will probably be very high.

The straps made by are also very popular amongst world wide. I really like the vintage Swiss ammo pouch strap by Ted Su, as pictured below, but for 250 USD I would like to see it before I buy it.I have a couple of straps for my Panerai and a few of them are really stiff, which kinda annoys me after a full day of wear. It is great that has this special , this way owners of these non-OEM straps can exchange information and experiences. I also have good experiences with buying straps from , although they don’t seem to carry a lot of Ammo Pouch straps. However, they do have the famous straps The military pouch strap they have is quite nice though, see the picture below:You can get really caught up in this Panerai strap thing if you don’t watch out!
