Zurich based Maurice de Mauriac produces customized swiss made and assembled timepieces. You can select from a wide variety of dials, cases, bezels, straps and more. Prices start around a couple grand and go above ten thousand for solid gold cases. The watch above is $4,200 as shown in a beautiful satin DLC treated stainless steel case (45 mm in diameter) with a 7750 "top" grade movement and black Kevlar strap with stainless steel buckle. The caseback is clear so you can enjoy the finished movement. I've worn this timepiece for about a year, and it is still scratch-free (DLC is virtually scratch proof). To freshen up the looks, I have ordered a new satin stainless steel bezel and a domed sapphire crystal (the bezel/crystal are easily interchangeable with the use of a specialized bezel tool). Functions are time and date indication, split-seconds chronograph, and moon phase. The case is in stainless steel with a sapphire crystal and is water-resistant to 50 meters.3/10/03
