The modern design of the watch seem really appealing, being concentrated on a contrast between black and silvery stainless steel, managing to provide a look that's both sporty and elegant at the same time.The new IWC Ingenieur Big Chronograph Watch was released during the SIHH 2009 event, in Geneva and was regarded as one of the breakthrough timepieces of the year. Regarding the design of the watch, we can say that it uses neat elements brought together by the most modern appearance. The roundly-shaped case is made of stainless steel and it features a bezel made from polished stainless steel. The bezel has a scale for the tachymeter function and the lateral side of the case is equipped with a crown and two pushers which help set the functions of the chronograph. The black dial of the IWC Ingenieur Big Chronograph Watch has Arabic numerals indicating the minutes, two sub-dials for the a 60 minutes counter and one for the 12 hour counter, positioned symmetrically at 12 and 6 o'clock positions, and also a date window which has made room discreetly in the lower part of the sub-dial from 6 o'clock. SIHH 2010: IWC Portuguese Tourbillon Manual-Wind (Ref. IW5447)This one is going to be huge, both in terms of its recommended price and popularity among the collectors and well-funded enthusiasts. Available with the beautifully decorated Calibre 98900 manufacture manual-wind movement, this one is the ultimate dress watch.Sporting the famous flying minute tourbillon complication, this variation of the almost century-old pocket watch movement gets even more accurate with its frequency increased from 18,000 to more appealing 28,800 vph.The movement’s balance spring stores enough power to make it tick for as long as 54 hours.Like it is the case with a great number of other tourbillon watches, its black dial with applied Arabic numerals looks grossly unbalanced with all the visual “weight” concentrated between 6 o’clock and 9 o’clock positions.
