The house of Glashutte Original has proudly released its new Seventies Panorama date watch, inspired by the 1970s, the TV screen in particular. The model will be officially unveiled within the framework of the forthcoming Baselworld 2011 trade show.The new Glashutte Original watch has adopted a cushion-shaped stainless steel case, which measures 40 mm in diameter. It boasts top and bottom sapphire crystals. The case is equipped with a protected winding crown, conventionally located at 3 o�clock. The case is complimented by a perfectly balanced dial, performed in matt silver, galvanized ruthenium or blue. The display of the new Seventies Panorama date watch comprises applied hour-markers as well as hour, minute and seconds hands turning over them.All the elements are crafted from white or rose gold and treated with a luminous coating. The dial also offers a date indication, arranged in the aperture at 6 o�clock.The functions are driven by an automatic Glashutte Original 39-47 movement. 30,95 mm in diameter, it incorporates a skeletonized rotor and a swan�s neck regulator. The mechanism beats to the rhythm of 28, 800 vibrations per hour and offers a 40-hour power reserve. I think I found my new grail watch. Well, achievable Grail at least��One of the most beautiful, yet understated dress watches I have ever seen, with a very unique complication that sets it aside from the other watches out there. The Senator Diary has an alarm that can be set to go off any time in the next 30 days ahead! The alarm allows you to specify a date for it to go off as well in addition to the time. The exhibition case back of the Senator Diary is also very nice looking, as most Glashutte Original watches are.This beauty features GO's in-house manufacture Calibre 100-13 and totals 600 components! And of course also features GO's signature 3/4 plates. Case measures a healthy 42mm in diameter.Available in stainless steel with black dial for $18,100 and in rose gold with silver dial for $29,400. The Rose gold version is my grail! Hell, a lot of the higher end Glashutte Originals end up feeling like Grail watches to me. I just really like their stuff!
