While rounding off the arms, the brand�s craftsmen have to file the ends of the arms to make them perfectly uniform. The arms acquire a semi-cylindrical shape while maintaining the demarcation of the centre and the heels. Then, the craftsmen use stones, buffs, boxwood and diamond pastes for smoothing the arms to a supremely rounded finish. This top-level craftsmanship reflects the heritage of the pocket Tourbillons created by Constant Girard-Perregaux in the 19th century. The sophisticated Tourbillon is assembled from 72 parts with amazing dexterity, as all the parts fit into a diameter of just one centimeter. Its weight is just 0.3 gram. The self-winding system of the movement has been patented by the Girard-Perregaux Manufacture. The small-diameter platinum oscillating weight is positioned in the space below and around the barrel.
