A keen outdoor sports fan has been raving about the Pathfinder range of Casio watches.Will Rochfort, writing for Backpacker magazine, said he was given one of these after being disappointed by two previous timepieces that let him down on camping trips.However, he has had no such bad luck with his Pathfinder, which he described as one of the most useful and dependable tools in his possession, as well as one of the hardiest."This watch has come on every trip I've been on since I received it as a birthday present two years ago … and it still works as well as the day I got it," Mr Rochfort enthused.The hiker praised the Pathfinder's solar power (which he reported never having seen at below two-thirds full), as well as extra functions such as a digital compass, thermometer, world time, timer and a calendar as being especially useful in the great outdoors.There are a number of Pathfinder models designed by Casio watches, including one with a yacht race timer for seafaring types.

Casio watches are to be promoted to young women in India more heavily, the company has confirmed.According to sales and marketing head Kulbhushan Seth, Casio is not well-known for its range of ladies watches.As a result, it intends to step up the promotion of products such as its Baby-G series, reports Sify Finance."Times are changing and we feel it is changing for the better for us," Mr Seth commented.He added that consumers typically own several watches these days, as they have more disposable income to spend.Casio India hopes the upcoming promotional drive will boost its share in the watch market to ten per cent.The company's efforts to sell more Baby-G watches to girls may be aided by the fact various female celebrities have recently been seen wearing the timepieces.Australian guitarist Orianthi wears one in her new video, while Rihanna also sported a Baby-G watch in the promo film for her Rude Boy single.
