After Bvlgari engulfed the brand Gerald Genta (that it already owned), it took most of the brand’s contemporary timepieces and “Bulgarized” them! Sorry, I had to say that – it made me laugh. What this means is that they took existing designs and reshaped them a bit to bit Bulgari’s DNA.I was impressed they they decided the Grande Sonnerie Tourbillon should be kept alive. Renamed the Bvlgari Gerald Genta Magsonic Grande Sonnerie Tourbillon, the watch seems to only change the case material (looks to be in rose gold now), and the text on the ring around the dial.Because the watch is so complex with its tourbillon and sophisticated chiming functions, Bulgari created an iPad app that explains the watch. An incredible piece, this was originally retailed for $900,000 – I wonder what it goes for now in Bvlgari form.

Following last year's introduction of the "seconde rétrograde" watches, Bvlgari has added two new new "Petites Complications" models to its lineup.The Annual Calendar comes in a 38mm case either in yellow gold or in white gold coupled with a brown or a black crocodile strap. The watch features an elegant dark grey dial and is equipped with the annual calendar movement. A thin arrow indicates the days around the dial, while the months are displayed in a small counter at 6 o'clock. This timepiece is also available in two limited editions of 99 pieces only, either in yellow gold with brown dial or in white gold with a vivid bordeaux dial.The Moon Phases model is also housed in a 38mm case. The dark grey dial displays the date, the small seconds counter and an aperture for the moon phases. The case is available in yellow gold as well as in white gold. Both variations are also presented in two limited editions of 99 pieces each, respectively with a unique green and with a bright blue dial.All these models will be available in all Bvlgari stores as of May 2003.5/20/03
