Breguet watches enjoyed great success at the first edition of The Watches Days exhibition, which brought together around 50 watch brands in Geneva from November 12th to 14th. This exceptional watch, reflecting the architecture of the first tourbillon pocket-watches invented by Breguet, is presented in a platinum version and features a movement coated with a special anthracite-coloured metal alloy. The fusee-and-chain transmission, connected to the barrel, serves to guarantee constant force throughout the running of the watch. Several patents have been filed for the large tourbillon positioned at 1 o'clock, including one relating to a titanium balance and three for the Breguet balance-spring in silicon. Another patent has been granted for the power-reserve indication placed directly on the barrel. The Manufacture Breguet is particularly proud of this new model. On this occasion, the brand has parented the first Grande Complication model in the Reine de Naples collection dedicated exclusively to women. The sonnerie au passage or automatic striking "in passing" is a sophisticated complication that serves to chime each full hour by two strokes repeated three times. It provides a graceful and discreet reminder of the passing of time. A pushpiece at 2 o'clock serves to stop this function if required. This new oval-shaped movement, in-house made by the Manufacture Breguet, was specially designed for women and elegantly combines the technical feat of an automatic striking function with the beauty of an entirely hand-engraved and decorated movement. Alongside the usual technical requirements, the movement design also took account of aesthetics and of the results of the fundamental research undertaken by the Manufacture Breguet on the acoustics of striking and repeater watches. The design of the bridges, of the oscillating weight and of the decorative motifs form the shape of a dove in full flight, which may be admired through the sapphire crystal case-back. The white mother-of-pearl dial is framed by a white gold case with an entirely diamond-set bezel. After Geneva, Paris, Moscow, New York and Shanghai, to mention but a few, the brand is consolidating its worldwide presence by taking its place on the famous Bahnhofstrasse. The Breguet watch collections are presented in an exclusive new 420 square meter three-floor showcase highlighting the brand's values and expertise within a plush, elegant atmosphere. The engraved glass walls are inspired by the art of guilloch��-work and their royal blue color pays tribute to that of the "�� tact" watch ordered by Empress Josephine in 1799. The anodised aluminium rods separating the various areas are reminiscent of the finely fluted pattern adorning the cases of Breguet timepieces. The recurrent elliptical motif on the floor and ceiling echo the iconic oval shape of the Reine de Naples watch, the first wristwatch created for Caroline Murat by A.-L. Breguet in 1810.
