Vacheron CEO Juan-Carlos Torres personally presented the watch to Michael Mann, the director of Miami Vice. In Miami Vice, character Sonny Crocket (played by Colin Farrell) was wearing a Vacheron Constantin Malte Chronograph Perpetual Calendar in Platinum. The director was determined to acquire it for his personal anthology. The platinum case, measures 39mm, has double sapphire crystals and is water resistant to 30 meters.

The case is of brushed/polished titanium (44.4 x 35.4 mm) with anti-reflective sapphire crystal front and back. The dial has Arabic numerals engraved under the crystal then dyed in black with the tourbillon cage and small seconds at 6 o’clock and power reserve indicator at 12 o’clock.
