This ref.26075ST.00.D038CR.01 (you wonder how they make these up) Monte Napeolone was introduced in 2005 to commemorate the inauguration of the boutique in the Monte Napoleone shopping street (Via Montenapoleone) in Milan.This example was produced (or sold) in 2006 and is in great condition. The big and bright Arabic numerals and red hands give a nice contrast with the green dial and alligator strap. As with all Off-Shore chronograph calibers (2326/2840), the date is in the basement and therefore requires a cyclops beneath the sapphire crystal. The crown and pushers are protected against dust and moisture (water) with rubber. An AP folding clasp is included, to securely tighten the leather strap. Delivered in a special edition wooden AP watch box.Except for the Jumbo and 15300 (Date) Royal Oak models, all others have a stainless steel caseback. This particular models has a ‘Monte Napoleone’ engraving in the caseback. Just to be sure.Besides 100 editions in stainless steel, AP also created 50 pieces of the Monte Napoleone ROO in gold. Its measurements are 47 mm x 42 mm: width and thickness indicated respectively. The case of the new Audemars Piguet watch is fitted with a powerful three-position winding crown and a sapphire crystal back side.The timekeeper comes equipped with a non water-resistant dial, performed in anthracite grey. The off-centered display is completed with applied pink gold Roman numerals. Sweeping smoothly over them are skeletonized hour and minutes hands. The small seconds are ticking away in a silvered counter, located in the lower part of the dial. The minute repeater slide activator is featured at 7 o'clock. The functions, provided by the new Millenary Hand-wound Minute Repeater watch, are brought to life by the brand's proprietary hand-wound calibre 2910 movement. It features the dimensions of 37.90 mm x 32.90 mm: width and thickness indicated respectively. The total thickness of the movement constitutes 10.05 mm. The caliber incorporates a direct-impulse AP escapement and a variable-inertia balance, fitted with inertia-blocks. Composed of 443 individual parts, the movement beats to the rhythm of 21,600 vibrations per hour and offers a respectable 165-hour power reserve.Entirely finished by hand, the mechanism boasts hand-polished bevelling, interior angles, snailing, hand-drawn file strokes, horizontal "Cotes de Geneve" motif as well as circular-graining on the main plate.The new Audemars Piguet is accompanied by a hand-sewn black crocodile leather strap, which strikes the eye with large square scales.
