A. Lange & Sohne unveils its new Saxonia Dual Time watch created as a perfect timekeeping companion for travelers. The highly-legible solid-silver dial of the new A. Lange & Sohne watch allows to instantly read the local and home time at a glance. The creators of the Saxonia Dual Time watch wanted to make the procedure of setting the time for a second time-zone most convenient. While switching from one time-zone to another, the hour hand, showing local time, can be incremented or decremented in one-hour steps with help of the push-pieces found at 8 and 10 o�clock. When the watch owner presses the upper push-piece, the hour hand moves forward by one hour. When he presses the lower push-piece, the hour hand moves back, also in one-hour steps. While the hour hand is moved to the necessary position, the minute hand continues running. The second hour hand in blued steel is responsible for indicating the home time. There is also a 24-hour sub-dial in the upper part of the dial that is synchronized with home time.The 40mm case of the watch is crafted from pink or white gold. It accommodates the completely redesigned self-winding movement - calibre L086.2. The movement acquired an extra hand-setting mechanism for the second time-zone. It incorporates a central rotor with a 950 platinum centrifugal mass that provided energy-efficient winding. The movement gives an advantage of a 72-hour power reserve. The movement boasts a hand-engraved balance cock, an indexless oscillation system with a screw balance, and the brand�s proprietary balance spring. It operates at a frequency of 21,600 semi-oscillations per hour. The 268-part, 31-jewel movement is meticulously decorated by hand. The su***ces of the movement components, even of those not visible after final assembly, are finished with finely executed polishing and decorating techniques. The A. Lange & Sohne Saxonia Dual Time watch is presented on a hand-stitched black or chestnut crocodile strap. It is fitted with a Lange prong buckle in solid gold.

A Lange Tourbillon "Pour le Mérite" was recently sold at Antiquorum for $151,000.No. 107/150, was produced in a limited edition of 150 examples in 18kt gold in the 1990's, with only 15 produced in 18kt pink gold. This particular model was sold on March 3, 1999. Production of this reference started in 1994.The case in 18kt pink gold features a visible one-minute tourbillon regulator, with 36 hours of power reserve.Movement is the Lange Caliber L 902.0-No. 432, with a Glashütte three-quarter plate, with the movement being decorated and engraved by hand. It has 29 jewels including 5 in screw-mounted gold châtons, a tourbillon cage bearing 2 diamond endstones, a lateral lever escapement with a one-minute tourbillon regulator with polished-steel equidistant three-arm carriage, and a Glucydur balance with screws, adjusted to 5 positions.It also features a Nivarox balance-spring with overcoil invented by Prof. Strasser, power equalization with chain and fusée, maintaining power and stepped planetary gearing, shock-absorber, and a self-compensating Breguet balance-spring. The case diameter is 38mm.This is the only model produced today, utilizing power equalization with chain and fusée. It is only 12.3 mm. in diameter, with the tourbillon itself comprising 76 components, weighing less than half a gram. The planetary transmission gear, compensating for the decreasing power of the mainspring, is built into a miniature cone, measuring only 10 mm. in diameter at its base.
